Each Scout pays a subscription fee per term which contributes towards the cost of Scouting. A large portion of the subscriptions we collect are paid to the Scout Association to cover organisational costs including our core insurance. The remainder pays for items like school hall hire and weekly consumables. Activities such as camps or visits may incur an additional cost, but these are kept to a minimum, note that no Scout is ever excluded for financial reasons.
From September 2016, the subs have increased to £40 per term (£1055 if an annual payment is made). They are due at the beginning of each term and the parents’ responsibility to ensure they have paid within the first few weeks of term. We do send out a reminder email at the beginning of term. Please make your cheques payable to “61st Watford South Scout Group” with your Scouts name written on the back of the cheque.
